Für die Philosopie ist somit besonders die Frage relevant, ob sich im Menschen etwas findet, das ihm Auskunft darüber geben kann, was die Welt unabhängig von seinen Anschauungs- und Denkformen ist.

Oder anders: Erschöpft sich ein Gegenstand in seiner Erscheinung, d.h. in dem, was sich unserem Anschauen und Denken erschließt? Oder findet sich an einem Gegenstand immer auch ein Etwas, das sich unserem Anschauen und Denken entzieht?

Findet sich an den Dingen ein letzter Rest, der sich einer rationalen Erfassung entzieht?

Oder wieder anders: Sofern sich etwas Schöpferisches im Mitmenschen oder in der Welt findet, so sind unsere Anschauungs- und Denkformen dennoch so beschaffen, dass wir mit Hilfe dieser Anschauungs- und Denkformen das Schöpferische nicht erfassen können.

Kant’s idea:
~ Thinking does not tell us what an object is independently of our forms of intuition, because thinking always relies on our forms of intuition. Or, put differently: If human beings attempt to give an account of the world by means of their reason, they cannot abstract entirely from their forms of intuition and thought; therefore, they cannot say what the world is independently of their forms of intuition and thought.
For philosophy, the following question is therefore particularly relevant: whether there is anything in human beings that can give them information about what the world is independently of their forms of intuition and thought.
Or, put differently: Is an object exhausted by its appearance—that is, by what becomes accessible to our intuition and thought? Or is there always something about an object that eludes our intuition and thought?
Is there in things a final remainder that escapes rational comprehension?
Or again in other words: Even if there is something creative in other people or in the world, our forms of intuition and thought are nonetheless such that, by means of them, we are unable to grasp what is creative.
