Ich bin kein Christ. Aber es gibt da den Christlichen Glauben bzw. den Glauben mancher Christen, dass die Welt von einem guten, liebenden oder wohlwollenden Gott geschaffen sei. In solch einem Glauben haben sich zuweilen Menschen doch recht wohl gefühlt. Salopp: "Die Welt ist oder war gut gemeint." Die Welt, ein schöner Gegenstand. Und der Mensch kann in ihr viel Geborgenheit finden.

I am not a Christian. But there is the Christian faith—or the faith of some Christians—that the world was created by a good, loving, or benevolent God. In such a faith, people have at times felt quite at ease. Put casually: “The world is, or was, meant well.” The world, a beautiful thing. And within it, humans can find much comfort and security.
